Calling Verizon from Overseas: Support Numbers

Calling Verizon while you are travelling or living outside the US? Verizon's International Support Team number is +1 908 559 4899, and a call costs $0.02 / minute from 002call. Below is what Verizon says the line is for and how to reach it.

Call from your browser

Verizon's International Support Team

Verizon gives +1 908 559 4899 for help while you are travelling outside the US. Use it for a device that is lost, stolen or broken abroad, for troubleshooting, and to remove the unbilled data block that Verizon can apply to data use abroad.

Verizon does not publish hours or a timezone for this line.

Before you call from abroad

1. Turn on roaming in your device settings before you travel. Verizon's own page says: "Before you go, make sure your roaming is turned on in your device settings."
2. If a toll-free number exists for your country, dial it from a landline. Verizon's list gives these numbers by country and says: "Please dial the toll-free number exactly as it appears."
3. If there is no toll-free number for your country, dial the exit code from a landline, then +1 908 559 4899. Verizon says toll charges will apply to that call.
4. Note the date and time of your call. A university IT guide on Verizon use abroad says Verizon issues a credit only when you have contacted the International Support Team for troubleshooting.

Charges and mobile calls

Verizon's pages say toll charges apply to the fallback route. Calls from a hotel room, a public phone or another network can add charges set by that phone or hotel, not by Verizon or 002call.

002call sends your call over the internet, so it skips the international call charges your carrier and hotel phone would add. There is no subscription, and you pay only for the minutes you use. If you are abroad, Wi-Fi avoids mobile data charges.
