Qantas Phone Number: Calling From Abroad
Need to reach Qantas about a booking while you're overseas? The numbers that work from abroad are below, and calls start from $0.02 / minute with 002call.
Which Qantas number to call
Qantas runs its contact centres from Australia and lists a local line in many other countries. These are the ones most people abroad need.
| # | Country | Number | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Australia (from overseas) | +61 2 8222 2439 | $0.02 / minute |
| 2 | Australia (13 13 13) | +61 13 13 13 | Shown before you dial |
| 3 | New Zealand | +64 9 357 8900 | $0.02 / minute |
| 4 | United Kingdom | +44 800 964 432 | $0.02 / minute |
| 5 | Singapore | +65 6415 7373 | $0.03 / minute |
If you booked on the Australian site, or your country isn't listed, use the Australian line. Qantas itself tells customers in other regions to call it in Australia on +61 2 8222 2439 when a flight change notice arrives outside local office hours.
Calling 13 13 13 from abroad
+61 13 13 13 is the Qantas number every Australian knows, and Qantas's help pages say its contact centres on it are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The catch is that 13 numbers are meant for calls inside Australia. Most mobile carriers abroad can't connect them, so the call fails before it rings.
Through 002call it goes through from any country. If you'd rather dial a standard Sydney number, +61 2 8222 2439 is the overseas line for the same contact centre.
New Zealand and the UK
Qantas gives New Zealand two numbers: 0800 808 767 inside the country, and +64 9 357 8900 for calls from outside it. Its contact page lists the New Zealand line as open 24 hours, 7 days a week. A New Zealander stuck in Los Angeles after a missed connection would dial the +64 number.
The UK line, +44 800 964 432, is a freephone number. It's free inside the UK, but a carrier in another country may refuse to connect it or charge for it. Through 002call it's an ordinary call at $0.02 / min.
Frequent Flyer and travel insurance lines
Two other Qantas lines take calls from overseas:
- Frequent Flyer Service Centre: +61 2 9433 2329 for members outside Australia. Qantas lists its hours as 7am to 7pm Australian Eastern Time, Monday to Saturday, so it's closed on Sundays.
- Qantas Travel Insurance emergency assistance: +61 3 9522 4838 from outside Australia. Qantas Insurance says the team is available 24/7, 365 days a year for policyholders who have an emergency on a trip.
Both are Australian numbers at $0.02 / min from 002call.
Before you call
Have these to hand so the agent can find your booking quickly:
- Your booking reference and the passenger's last name
- Your e-ticket number, from the confirmation email
- Your Qantas Frequent Flyer number, if you have one
- The flight you want instead, with the date and route
For an insurance claim or an emergency, have your policy number ready as well. Write down the agent's name and any reference they give you, so a dropped call doesn't mean starting again.
Rates and charges
From 002call, every line on this page is $0.02 / min except Singapore, which is $0.03 / min. The 13 13 13 rate shows before the call starts.
Calls from mobiles, public phones and hotel rooms may attract extra charges.

Breakdown of Providers
Calling an Australian airline from the other side of the world can cost more than expected, since much of the call is time on hold.
- Carrier roaming: $0.50 - $2.00 / min, depending on the carrier, plus monthly and hidden charges.
- Hotel room phones: hotels add their own administrative markup to international calls.
- 002call: a flat rate per country, from $0.02 / min to the Sydney line.
Why 002call is the smart way to call
002call connects the call over the internet from your browser, so there are no international call charges from a carrier or a hotel phone. Each country has one flat per-minute rate with no subscription, and on Wi-Fi the call uses no mobile data. An hour on hold to the Sydney line costs $1.20. The same hour on roaming at $1.00 a minute is $60.
Frequently asked questions
Can I call 13 13 13 from overseas?
Usually not from a mobile, because most carriers outside Australia can't connect 13 numbers. Through 002call you can dial +61 13 13 13 from any country, or use the overseas line +61 2 8222 2439.
Which number should I call if I booked online?
Qantas doesn't say which line handles online bookings. Start with the line for the country whose Qantas site you booked on, and use the Australian overseas line if your country isn't listed.
Can I call from my mobile?
Yes. On 002call the call runs in your browser, so your carrier doesn't bill it as an international call. Hotel or café Wi-Fi keeps mobile data out of it too.
Is the Frequent Flyer line open on Sundays?
No. Qantas lists the Frequent Flyer Service Centre hours as 7am to 7pm Australian Eastern Time, Monday to Saturday.

The Australian overseas line, 13 13 13 hours, and the New Zealand, UK, Singapore and Frequent Flyer numbers are from Qantas's contact and help pages on qantas.com, read through search results on 6 November 2026, and each matches at least one independent third-party guide or airport listing. The travel insurance emergency number is from Qantas Insurance's emergency assistance page, checked 6 November 2026. 002call's rates come from its published rate table.
